Compost Clubbers: How to Redeem Your Compost Credits
So you're a Compost Clubber. You've been diverting your food waste from the landfill like the good human you are. But now you're wondering — how do I actually get my hands on the finished compost, soil, or mulch that comes with my membership?
You're not alone. This is one of the most common questions we get. So here's the full scoop.
What You Get as a Compost Club Member
Every Compost Club membership comes with two perks:
3 cubic feet of free finished compost, soil or mulch per year. This refreshes every calendar year — so if you joined in 2024, you got 3 cubic feet for 2024, and another 3 cubic feet became available on January 1, 2025.
20% off any compost, soil, or mulch product we carry. This one's good all year long, as many times as you'd like. Whether you need a bag for your raised beds or a truckload for a landscaping project, the discount applies.
The Timing Trick Worth Knowing
Here's something a lot of members don't realize: your 3 cubic feet refresh at the start of each calendar year. So if you haven't redeemed yet and you're reading this in the spring — you might be sitting on more product than you think.
Example: Say you became a member in December. You could redeem your 3 cubic feet right away. But if you wait until January, you'll actually have 6 cubic feet available — your original 3 plus the new year's refresh. Not a bad deal for a little patience.
What If You Donated During Compost Club Gives?
If you donated your credits during a Compost Club Gives campaign — first of all, thank you. That finished compost went to nonprofit food gardens across Omaha, and it made a real difference.
You won't have free product to redeem this year, but you still get your 20% off all compost, soil, and mulch products anytime.

Getting There (Read This Before You Drive)
Wayfinding video for the Soil Dynamics Yard
Fair warning — GPS alone probably won't get you to the yard. The apps tend to get confused by the location, so we recommend following these directions:
Coming from downtown Omaha heading toward the airport on Abbott Drive, take a right on Avenue H, then your first immediate right. Drive to the end of the road.
There's also a wayfinding video on the Soil Dynamics contact page that walks you through it visually. Seriously — watch the video. It'll save you five minutes of circling.
This Applies to All Compost Club Members
Whether you're a drop-off member or on our curbside service, the redemption process is the same. Same credits, same discount, same options.
