See where your recyclables actually go. First Star is where materials from across the metro get sorted and processed β including soft plastics from the Hefty ReNew program, which are shredded and compressed into board right here in Omaha.

β Earth Day in Bellevue
Sunday, April 19 | 11 AMβ3 PM | Green Bellevue
Vendor expos, educational sessions, a clothing swap, scavenger hunt, and recycle relay. Green Bellevue partners with Hillside on lunchroom composting at Bellevue East and West and promotes the Compost Club for residential food scrap drop-off.

β Curbside Compost Club - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Be a part of history as we officially launch Omahaβs new residential curbside composting service. Audrey of the Hillside Fund will host at her house, and friends of Hillside are welcome. The big one. In its 37th year, Earth Day Omaha is the metro's largest annual environmental event β 100+ green exhibitors, live music, food trucks, kids' activities, demos, and a beer garden. Hillside is a proud sponsor, and we need volunteers for zero waste stations.

Local organizations line the riverfront promenade to share sustainability resources and practices. A low-key, family-friendly way to wrap up the month.
