🎄 Quick, get your Christmas tree recycled. The City of Omaha has 14 drop-off sites for real trees. But you have until January 9th to get them there. Otherwise, if you’re a Compost Clubber, you can always drop it off for free at our Soil Dynamics Yard.

📈 Real results from our partners: PenFed Credit Union shared that they’ve reduced their landfill pickups by 75% at its Papillion call center. And Artifact Bag has a slick postcard sharing that they are a “zero waste-to-landfill” business.

Dolomiti Pizzeria

Carlos Mendez of Au Courant and esteemed Chef Tim Maides have opened Dolomiti, a new Millwork Commons pizza spot. They’ll be joining Coneflower, Kros Strain, and Clean Slate who are using our composting and recycling services inside the Ashton Building. They’ll also have a wine shop, so all bottles consumed on location will be recycled.

Madonna Rehab

Here’s an interesting use case for composting: a hospital composting all post-consumer food waste from an industrial garbage disposer. That’s exactly what our new partners at Madonna Rehab are doing. We love it because it’s an easy way to make an eco-impact without changing any pre-existing processes.

Bellevue East High School

The composting crusade continues to the next high school! This time at Bellevue East High School. By the end of the month, the routine of separating food waste will be an everyday part of life for these 1,500 students.

Highlander Greenhouse

Imagine a year-round vertical farm in North Omaha. A research lab & rentable kitchen for entrepreneurs. Plus a micro-market serving up organic greens to neighbors (grown from our compost). That’s now a reality thanks to the Highlander Greenhouse. And thanks to No More Empty Pots behind the effort, zero-waste practices will be the default.
